UAE Attestation New Rules 2025: What You Need to Know

If you are planning to use your Indian documents for work, study, or business in the UAE, there’s a major update you should know about.

UAE Attestation New Rules 2025: From 2025 onward, the UAE Embassy in India has changed its attestation process. Now, the UAE Embassy attestation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) attestation will happen together in India itself!

Earlier, you would receive two separate stickers — one for the Embassy and one for MOFA. Now, you’ll get a single-page certificate that combines the entire verification process, issued directly by the UAE Embassy.

This means you no longer have to send your documents to the UAE for separate MoFA attestation!

What Does This Change Mean for You?

Whether you need UAE attestation for your degree certificate, marriage certificate, birth certificate, or even company documents, the whole attestation + MOFA will be done in India. Here’s how it will work:

  1. Initial Attestation in India
You start by getting your documents attested locally by the Notary, then by the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) or Human Resource Development (HRD) Department or State Home Department or Chamber of Commerce, depending upon your document. Then, do the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) verification in India.
  2. Submission to the UAE Embassy
Once that’s done, you can submit your documents to the UAE embassy in India.
  3. UAE Embassy Attestation + MoFA Attestation
The UAE Embassy/Consulate will now conduct both the UAE Embassy attestation and the MoFA attestation. They will provide you with a certificate instead of two different stamps.

Why Is This New Rule Important?

  • Faster Process: Instead of sending documents abroad and waiting weeks for multiple attestations, everything is handled in India.
  • Centralized and Secure: Your documents go through a unified, secure process, reducing the risk of errors or fraud.
  • Cost-Effective: You will avoid shipping and multiple service charges since the UAE MoFA attestation happens simultaneously with the Embassy attestation.
  • Convenient: You no longer need to send original documents overseas; the authorized agent and embassy coordinate directly.

Which Documents Are Covered?

All Indian-origin documents meant for UAE use must follow this process, including but not limited to:

  • Personal documents like birth, marriage, death, and single status certificates
  • Educational documents include a degree, a diploma, transcripts, and school certificates.
  • Commercial documents like MOA, COI, board resolutions, export-import licenses, and other business-related paperwork.

What Should You Do Now?

You can follow the entire UAE Attestation process on your own. This includes

  • Notarization
  • SDM/HRD/Home department/ COC verification
  • MEA verification
  • UAE attestation + MOFA attestation.

Or you can choose a reliable attestation partner for the UAE. We will take care of the entire attestation process from start to finish — right from document collection and verification to final UAE embassy attestation. You don’t even have to leave your home with us.
